Keep It Simple

As I’ve mentioned before I am a student. While at uni I have been part of the Christian Union whose focus is telling other students about Jesus. We have done this in a number of different ways generally involving food (and an alliterative name). For us the key with whoever we meet is meeting them where they are at on their own journey of life and telling them them that Jesus loves them so much he died for them.

However sometimes, in the words of TobyMac, “We complicate something so basic”.

Remember This?

God loves you. Sometimes, even when filled with good intentions, we lose sight of that truth.

I know in my life it’s when the deadlines and responsibilities are stacking up while time is running out, that I forget that God loves me so much that he sent Jesus to DIE for ME!

That’s Not My Plan For You

81kdkrxm8cL._SL1425_Last night I was reminded in no uncertain terms that I had lost my fix on Jesus. I was being distracted by things that I thought mattered but in the grand scheme of salvation (both mine and the world’s) they just don’t matter.

It’s times like this that this blog is for me as well as whoever is reading it. So, here is a song that I was reminded of in the light of last night, Live Like That by Sidewalk Prophets. Fortunately God showed me this lyric Your world’s not falling apart it’s falling into place” from the song Just Be Held by Casting Crowns.

Just As Well It’s Not About Me

Always Been About You

Last night I lead worship at CU. I stepped in at late notice so practise was minimal. It was the first time I’ve lead worship on my own for a long time and so I think I was feeling the pressure to get it right. I had time before the meeting to go over things but to be honest I really made a mess of the songs, which didn’t exactly fill me with confidence.

I tried and tried this one song that I just couldn’t get right. So, I made an executive decision to take a break about 5 minutes before the meeting started. As I left the room my thoughts turned to this song, Always Been About You by Fellowship Creative.

The line that stood out to me is in the title “It’s always been about You“.
